The Artist:

Yolande T. Hunter, Fathiya, is a muti-talented artist in the underground art world. Her mother Jennifer Hunter, an accomplished fashion illustrator and designer in her own right, introduced her to the arts at a very young age.

Yolande began her passion for self-expression in the arts, through dance and acting.  At the age of 3, she was enrolled in "Dance Explosion" her first school of dance and has since mastered African, Modern, Tap and Swing dancing.  By the age of 7, she was offered to be the first African American Annie on Broadway.  However, it was decided her education was of more importance at the time.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Yolande was accepted to the Art & Design High School in New York at the age of 15. Here she was able to utilize various resources that allowed her to express herself through different mediums such as dance, fashion art and design, advertising design, photography, interior design and computer graphics.  Coinciding with her high school course work, she enrolled herself at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where she learned advanced techniques in Fashion Art and Design.

In addition to dancing, acting, and fashion design, Yolande has worked as a graphic designer, computer consultant, and production artist and has been a model for various hair and fashion shows.

Her work has been displayed in New York City and London galleries as an artist of many talents.
